Every year, Rachel's school holds a carnival called "Spring Fling". There are booths, raffles, carnival food and tons of games--but Rachel's favorite thing to do is the Cake Walk. She loves to play it over and over and we keep feeding her tickets because Shae and I get such a kick out of watching her. She picks her most lucky number to start on (8 this year because she is 8). Then she walks around the numbers sort of dancing to the music. When the music stops, the fun begins. She crosses her fingers, uttering some sort of prayer under her breath that her number will be called. The look of anticipation on her face is hillarious, which is why we keep giving her tickets. Every year since Kindergarten, Rachel has won a cake. This year, however, we thought her luck had run out. But on her very last ticket she won! We're taking her to Vegas.
Here are a few photos of her victory and her spoils...
Meghan is "much too old" now that she is in 5th grade to play these "silly" carnival games--she spent the time playing Game Boy with her friend Emmanuel from school.
