Love This Kid

Today at church Zach walks into Sharing Time
(where the teachers are desperately trying to get the kids to be reverent)
and hollers out to everyone:

"What's Up People?"

I love this kid.

Wouldn't it be great if we could carry the confidence we had at 3 years old into adulthood?

Zach's Birthday

For his birthday dinner...Zach wanted "chicken, rice and Mom's rolls."
So that is what I made.
I love the photo above--you can see the rolls he made in the top corner of the pan.
So cute! After dinner, we had a party.Zach wanted a monster truck cake. It was a total blast watching him open up his presents this year.
He was so excited about everything.
I explained to Zach that one of the gifts was from Great-Grandma Jean
(a grandma that he does not know very well or get to see very often).
Once he unwrapped the dinosaur-car playset he said
"Oh....I LOVE Grandma Jean!"

Here is a video of Zach opening his present from Grandma and Grandpa....
and who knew that Connect Four could be so much fun?

Blogging Material

This week I realized that being Zach's Mom means that I will never run out of blogging material.
Ever.
He says, or does, or is something every day that could be blog worthy.
For instance: this weekend we ordered Chinese Food.
When Zach opened his fortune cookie, here is what we read:
You have enough energy and enthusiasm for two people.
(true--so true)
One of my favorite things about Zach is that he has a pet robin.

He met Mr. Robin in our backyard a few weeks ago.
The next day, we saw "Zachy's Robin" at the grocery store.
Then the day after that, we saw him in a tree near the walking path we are on.

I love it when he spots his robin each day. He will point and yell:

"Mommy--there is Zachy's Robin!"

It makes me smile.
